**Time to Say Goodbye!**

If it’s a privilege to be by your side,
Can I ask to leave with dignity, no ego, no pride?
I know you cherish me, you’ve cared through the years,
But my pain weighs heavy and brings you to tears.

I can’t see or hear like I used to,
Life isn’t joyful, and I don’t want to burden you.
My love may blind you to how I feel,
Let’s not mix devotion with this heavy deal.

I’m terrified when you leave, so lonely and scared,
Pretending I’m fine, though I’m truly impaired.
I feel so worthless, my body so weak,
Yet I still crave your love, more than I can speak.

My legs can’t hold me, and hope’s out of sight,
The sooner I go, the more it feels right.
You’ll share your love with a new pup someday,
Please let me leave with grace, come what may.

Thank you for being my friend and my home,
I’ll cherish our moments wherever I roam.
Though I’m fading, my spirit will stay,
Remember the laughter and joy we shared each day.

I’m so grateful for you, my dear, loyal friend,
All journeys must end, but our love won’t end,
So please don’t cry, and don’t feel alone
I’ll always be with you, forever your own!
